About Me

Get to Know Me

Hi, I’m Lauren! I live in Portland, OR with my miniature goldendoodle puppy, Maeve. In my free time, I love exploring the Pacific Northwest, baking, painting, and reading.

I am currently a frontend software developer at Viewpoint Construction Software. On a daily basis, I work with our UX team to implement their responsive, user-friendly designs. Through this experience, I have gained a great source of knowledge regarding the design and resarch process that goes behind every one of our features. I am the primary developer on my team responsible for styling, responsive behavior, and the layouts of the pages.

When I am not working, I am most likely painting bottles for my small business, Lolo’s Hydros. Having a daily creative outlet is crucial for me, which is why I am so passionate about my business and art in general. With Lolo’s Hydros, I have had the opportunity to work with customers, understanding their needs and desires in order to create the best custom bottle that represents them.

Education

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oregon State University in Spring of 2021. I majored in Computer Science with a focus in Human Computer Interaction (HCI).

UX/UI Skills

• A strong understanding of responsive design and behavior
• A passion for creating an effective and visually pleasing interface, placing emphasis on color, fonts, spacing, and layouts
• Experience with Figma and Balsamiq to create interactive prototypes for users and developers
• Understanding of how different personas can require different needs from the design, specifically when designing for users with disabilities or a need for extra visual aids
